Diagnosis coding corner: Final 2018 diagnosis code set adds dozens of codes to the proposed set

Starting Oct. 1, it will be a little easier to code a fracture of the middle phalanx of the fingers and toes. In the final version of the 2018 ICD-10-CM code set, the codes for those fractures have been corrected to state “middle phalanx” instead of “medial phalanx.”
